Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is the most popular and important Sikh house of worship, located in Delhi. It is eminent for its association with the eight Sikh Guru Har Krishan and the sacred pond ‘Sarovar’ whose water is considered as Amrit by Shikh devotees. The Gurudwara is located near by Connaught Place, New Delhi. One can easily recognize through its beautiful golden dome and tall flagpole.
The Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and its sarovar are a sacred pilgrimage for Sikh and Hindu Devotees. Every year the birth anniversary of Guru Har Krishan and death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh is celebrated with great gusto in the gurudwara. The Gurudwara complex includes the worship place, a kitchen, a school and an art gallery. Like other Gurudwaras, people of all religion can eat in the Gurudwara Kitchen. The food is made by the gurusikhs and the volunteers who want to help and contribute.
At Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, visitors are requested to remove the shoes and cover their heads. You will get head scarves and shoe minding service within the complex and without paying any cost. A higher secondary school, Baba Banghel Singh Museum, a library and a hospital is also located within the premises of the Gurudrawa.
