Places inside Delhi are very well interlinked. You will get ample option if you want to travel one place to another at very affordable price. The metro train, auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws help you if you want to reach one end to another in Delhi. Tourist taxis are available for interstate travel and yellow and black are best to travel within Delhi. Both are safe but a little bit expensive.

No issue if you are not comfortable with taxis. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will be the best if you wan to enjoy the cheapest mode of transport. DTC has covered entire states so you can go anywhere in city. The fair is very low and connectivity is great.

Auto rickshaw are the next good option if you are good at bargaining. For a reasonable fair, you have to argue. Its best if you are in group.

Apart from Taxi, Metro and bus, luxurious special tourist buses are also available. Generally such buses are associated with packaged tours to provide comfort and ease. The recently launched Delhi Metro railway line are also very efficient mode of transport.
