Humayun's tomb is perfect example of Mughal architecture. Humayun tom was constructed in 1569 by Haji begum in the memories of his husband Humayun.
The appearance of tomb is highly inspired by Parsian architecture. This beautiful monument is surrounded by a square shaped garden and divided into four parts by cause way and also have one water fountain at the center.
Humayun tom is the first garden tomb of India. Square shaped garden is divided into thirty six parts and separated by water channels or pathways. The laying down of the garden is decorated as Persian architecture which was introduced by Mughal Emperor Babur and continued till ShahJahan. You have to cross a long axial track to enter into tomb. Humayun tom has octagonal shape. There are lost grave built inside the monument which shows beautiful architecture work of Humayun era. Cenotaph of Humayun is located into the central room. Tomb is made up of red stone with combination of black & white marble. Humayun tomb is first Indian building which has used Persian architecture in the concept of double dome.
