Red fort was constructed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 17 century. Earlier, it was used as Capital of the Mughals where as British used it as a Military camp till the independence.

It is a great example of art and ornamental work. There are two main gates of Red fort, namely, The Delhi and Lahore Gate. Main entrance is through Lahore gate which take you to Chatta Chowk. Inside the building, main structures to visit are- Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Nehr-i-Behisht, Zenana, Moti Masjid and Hayat Bakhsh bagh.
There was a time when around 3000 people were living within the premises of Red fort complex. Today, this historical for is one of the most visited place of Delhi. Light and sound shows are organized on every shows to entertain visitors and show glory of ancient Mughal rulers.
