The Gurudwara Sis Ganj sahib is located in Chandni Chowk area , Old Delhi. This is the place where ninth Sikh guru , Guru Teg Bahadur was beheaded in 1675 AD by Mughal emperor when he refused to convert to Islam. In Sis Ganj Gurudwara , there is a trunk of a big tree below which the Guru was martyred. You will also visit the well in the Sis Ganj Gurudwara in which the Guru used to take a bath when he was in prison.
During 1705, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib visited Sis Ganj Gurudwara. He appointed Bhai Gurbakhsh as Udasi as a caretaker of the Sis Ganj Gurudwara. It is believed that on the death of Guru, no one dared to touch his dead body. Suddenly, Sky became got covered with dark clouds and followed by heavy rain fall. Two of the Sikh follower has taken out his body. The head of the Guru was taken to Chakk Nanaki in Anandpur whereas the boy was taken to the Rakab Ganj Gurudwara.
